Dr. Adham Hassouna, 41 years old, from Gaza city was a Palestinian freelance journalist and media professor & doctor at Gaza and Al Aqsa universities. He was killed on December 2, 2023, along with a number of his family members including his brother Dr. Majed Hassouna , as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted his house in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, according to the Ramallah-based Palestinian news network SHF, the Beirut-based press freedom group SKeyes, and the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate.

One of Hassouna’s friends described his relationship with him, saying, “My love, my brother, and my colleague, my study and professional colleague... my companion in exile, and my pen and book companion, whom I leaned on whenever my branch bent and bowed.” One of his students mourned him, saying, “You poured out your experience and knowledge on us. You were the best lecturer.”

Adham Ahmed Hassouna was born in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City . He studied primary school there, obtained a BA in Media and Communication Arts from October University in Egypt, a Master's degree from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies, and a PhD in Media in Sudan. After graduating, he worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Media at Palestinian universities in the Gaza Strip, and as an assistant professor of radio and television at Al-Isra University. He also worked as an assistant professor of radio and television at Al-Isra University. He worked as a director at Palestine TV.
