Full Name: Ahmed Abdel Rahman Shehab | أحمد عبد الرحمن شهاب
On 12 October, producer of Voice of Prisoners Radio Ahmed Shehab was killed alongside with his family members when an Israeli airstrike targeted his family’s home in the Zarqa area (Jabalia) refugee camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, which led to the death of him and all his family members.
A journalist for Sowt Al-Asra Radio (Radio Voice of the Prisoners), Shehab, along with his wife and three children, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his house in Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate, Palestinian press freedom group MADA, and the London-based news website The New Arab.
Shehab dedicated his life’s work to giving Palestinian prisoners a voice behind bars, reporting on news such as hunger strikes performed by prisoners against punishment of solitary confinement.
