Full name: Akram Ahmed Khalil al-Shafi'i | اكرم احمد خليل الشافعي

Journalist for Safa Press Agency since 2019 and many visual, audio, print, and electronic media outlets over 25 years.

• Killed of complications from Israeli bullets and being besieged in Al-Shifa Medical Complex mid-November without treatment for weeks.

• Akram was shot in late October 2023 by the occupation forces while trying to return to check on his bombed house in the northwest of Gaza City.
• He remained in the hospital for more than two months, suffering from a serious injury to the abdomen, which led to damage to many of his body's functions, until he was martyred after a sharp deterioration in his health accelerate by the IDF storming of Al-Shifa Medical Complex mid-November, as he remained for more than two weeks without treatment and medical care due to the soldiers arresting the medical staff and bombing the medicine warehouses.
• After he and many of the wounded were transferred to a hospital in the southern Gaza Strip, his condition began to deteriorate.

• Akram prepared hundreds of written and photographic materials that exposed the occupation's crimes, and reflected the steadfastness and perseverance of Palestinians on their land. He also focused on preparing reports on the living conditions of the people of the Strip and the deterioration of their conditions due to the Israeli siege.

• The last report prepared by the martyr dealt with the state of solidarity and mutual support among the displaced people inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, as he was among them.
