Video editor at Al-Quds Today TV.

Fadi Hassouna began his journalistic career early, working for Al-Quds Al-Youm TV since 2020, despite being a student at Al-Isra University majoring in web design and development. His skills have made him a key player in covering Israeli attacks on Gaza.

As the war intensified, so did his sense of mission. Every day, Fadi worked from a broadcast van parked in front of Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat camp, documenting the unfolding destruction. His father, Ihab Hassouna, recalled seeing him only “three days a month.” Fadi believed that journalism was a duty — to show the world what his people were enduring.

His family, worried for his safety, urged him to marry during their displacement. But Fadi refused, saying he would not marry until he returned to Gaza. His heart remained in his city, and in his work — a camera in his hand, purpose in his eyes.

On December 26, 2024, Fadi and four colleagues were killed when an Israeli missile struck the van of the channel's press car which was parked in front of Al-Awda Al-Nusseirat Hospital in Nuseirat camp, central Gaza. The strike set the vehicle on fire killing 5 members of Al-Quds Today TV's staff. The fire consumed their bodies; Fadi was only identified by his heel and small stature.

Yet those who knew Fadi say his courage will not be forgotten. “Fadi was an example of determination,” said his friend Mohammed Abu Odeh. “He believed the truth must reach the world — and we’ll carry that message forward, even if it costs us our lives.”
