Full name: Haneen Ali Hassan Al-Qashtan | حنين علي حسن القشطان

On 17 December, journalist Haneen Ali Al-Qashtan, 32 y/o, was killed along with members of her family in an Israeli bombardment on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate, Al-Jazeera, and the Cairo-based Youm7

Haneen Ali Qatshan (December 23, 1990) is a Palestinian journalist and activist, born in the Nuseirat camp in the northern Gaza Strip. She was killed in the 2023 with her family members in the bombing of her family home in the Nuseirat camp in Gaza. The Government Information Office in Gaza announced on Sunday, December 17, 2023 , after she and her family members were displaced to the camp.

She obtained her high school diploma from Mamdouh Saidam Girls School. She then joined Al-Quds Open University in Gaza. After that, journalist Qatshan worked as an editor for the Ahwal Al-Balad website. She then worked as a program presenter for Baladna TV. After that, she worked as a program producer for Al-Kofiya TV. Her last career stop was as a broadcaster for the Palestinian Voice of the Nation

She contributed to multiple othervmedia outlets including Al-Kofiya TV as a program producer, program presenter on Baladna TV, and as an editor on Ahwal Al-Balad website and worked for Sawt Al Watan Radio.

Haneen battled and overcame an illness prior to her murder.

Al-Qutshan, also known as al-Qashtan, was a respected journalist who made contributions to an FM radio station in Gaza.
