Full name : Ibrahim Mohammed Abdullah Lafii | ابراهيم محمد عبد الله لافى

Ibrahim lafii from Beit Hanoun was a photojournalist for Ain Media Company. He, was shot and killed at the Beit Hanoun/Erez crossing into Israel in the northern Gaza Strip on October 7 where he was reporting with colleagues on the Al-Aqsa flood events at the separation fence with Israel. He died while working in his press vest.

Ibrahim Lafi, a 21-year-old Palestinian journalist working for Ain Media in Gaza, used his Instagram to document both everyday life and the destruction in Gaza. Known for his creative eye and ambition as a filmmaker, he produced work for organizations such as Oxfam and UNICEF and aspired to become an international journalist. Friends and colleagues described him as a talented, supportive, and passionate storyteller.

Journalist Rushdi Sarraj mourned his friend Lafi, saying, “My helper has passed away… Ibrahim has passed away. He lived as a man and died as a man. His morals were those of men. I am saddened by your departure, and I am saddened by my absence from you and by my farewell to you.” But Sarraj was not away from his companion for long, as he was killed in an Israeli airstrike less than a week later.
