Killed along with two other journalists in an Israeli strike on a group of journalists in the courtyard of Al-Ahli hospital.

The strike killed Baddah and Hajjaj and gravely wounded Qalaja, who died from his injuries one day later on June 6. Palestine Today TV correspondent Emad Daloul was also injured, as were two other journalists with Al-Araby TV: reporter Islam Badr and camera operator Imam Badr.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated they targeted an Islamic Jihad operative in the yard of Al-Ahli Hospital. IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee later claimed that Suleiman Hajjaj and Samir Al-Rifai, both killed in the strike, were Islamic Jihad members posing as journalists and using the hospital to support militant activity. No evidence was provided to support these accusations.

In a statement, Palestine Today TV mourned the deaths of its journalists Suleiman Hajjaj and Ismail Badah. The channel condemned the strike as a "double war crime"—for targeting both journalists and a civilian hospital, both protected under international law. It accused Israel of conducting a systematic campaign to silence the media and hide alleged war crimes, enabled by international silence and complicity, particularly the U.S. veto of a UN Security Council ceasefire resolution. The channel reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its journalistic mission despite the risks and loss, and called on international organizations to take real action to protect journalists
