Jamal Haniyeh, 22 years old, from Gaza city was a Press editor on the website of Amwaj Sports Radio and a sports journalist. He was killed on November 21, with other family members and in-laws in an Israeli airstrike on his home in Gaza City, according to news reports and the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate and to the media Hanieh worked for : "The Amwaj Sports Media Network, with its board of directors and employees, mourned the sports journalist colleague Jamal Haniya, who was martyred in the criminal Israeli bombing last Tuesday evening on Gaza City. Haniya worked as an editor at the Amwaj website, and then moved to work in radio engineering and presentation. Haniya was known for his distinguished relationship with all media professionals and athletes, and excelled during his work at the network and his unlimited dedication to giving and hard work."


According to Al Jadeed TV, Hanieh also worked in radio engineering and presenting. According to the same reports, Haniyeh was the grandson of Hamas leader Ismael Haniyeh and also worked as a radio engineer. Haniyeh covered the football league in Gaza, as well as other stories, including the visit by Abdel Salam Haniyeh, the assistant secretary of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, to the injured journalist Ashraf Abu Amra while he was receiving medical treatment in Turkey for injuries suffered in September 2023 while covering a Gaza border protest.
