Mahmoud Akram Al-Hanawi was a 31-year-old freelance photojournalist and media worker from Gaza. He tragically lost his life on July 6, 2025, after an Israeli warplane bombed the home he had taken refuge in within Gaza City.

According to Gaza Notifications, the Israeli airstrike killed Ahmad Akram Al-Hanawi and his two daughters, Mayar and Alma, in a missile strike that targeted Gaza City."

In detail, his colleague, journalist Sally Thabet, told a “SKYz” correspondent: “An Israeli warplane targeted the house where my colleague Mahmoud had taken refuge, which led to his martyrdom along with several displaced people who were inside the house.”
