Full name: Mariam Riyad Abu Dagga | مريم رياض أبو دقة
Killed along with 4 other journalists in a double-tap targeted Israeli airstrike on Nasser Medical Complex on the morning of August 25, 2025.
Native of Khan Khan Younis, Mariam was an important source of documentation in the southern governorate. Mariam Abu Daqqa's reporting focused on documenting the forced displacement, famine and living conditions. She also documented Israeli massacres in the area.
Mariam began her journalism work in 2015 after studying journalism and graduating from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza.
Mariam's brother and nephew were killed during the genocide and she had evacuated her only son Ghayth while remaining in Gaza to fulfil her journalistic duty.
