Killed along with 4 other journalists in a double-tap targeted Israeli airstrike on Nasser Medical Complex on the morning of August 25, 2025.
In addition to documenting several Israeli massacres in Khan Younis, Moaz also documented some Israeli violations of the ceasefire in the area. He was also active in documenting forced displacement, living conditions and cases of severely ill children at Nasser Hospital for the purpose of medical evacuations.
Less than a week before his murder, Moaz had worked with Haaretz journalists Nir Hasson and Yarden Michaeli who worked on a major article about Israel's engineer famine. Moaz held the camera for the journalists so they can have a virtual tour through a live broadcast from the children's department at Nasser hospital
