• Reporter for Al-Rai Radio. Field correspondent for Al-Sharq News Agency
• Killed in an Israeli bombardment of Al-Karama School in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City while wearing a clearly marked press vest.
• Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes targeted him in a second airstrike directly after he arrived to the school to document the aftermath of the first strike.
• Human rights activist and head of EuroMed Hman Rights Monitor Ramy Abdu announced the death of his relative on X: "Just moments ago, my beloved cousin, journalist Nour Al-Din Matar Abdu, was killed by an Israeli missile while carrying out his journalistic duties."
• He lost his brother, journalist Mohammed Abdo, in 2007 during previous conflict. He continued his work out of commitment to truth and documenting suffering, refusing to evacuate northern Gaza despite personal risk and home destruction. He was actively involved in humanitarian efforts — distributing aid and helping children in displacement camps.
• His last words to his family: “I feel like I’m living my last hours.” His last prayer: “O God, if you have chosen me, make me whole, not in pieces.”
• His camera survived the blast and remained as a witness.
