Full name: Omar Khalil Omar Al-Balawi | عمر خليل عمر البلعاوي
Journalist and English teach Omar Khalil Al-Balaawi was shot to death by a live bullet shot by an Israeli drone while standing at the window of his house on Al-Jalaa Street, in Sheikh Radwan, near Gaza City.
Omar’s last message on Facebook was “ We are staying steadfast in the north we will only leave to heaven”.
He worked as gnlish teacher with HEAL Palestine and the Hands Up Project as "an inspiring leader, cherished by the children he taught, known for spreading joy and enthusiasm in every classroom he entered". He sponsored 'Stories Alive' programme in Gaza. For the past six months he'd been spreading joy and the gift of learning amongst traumatised children in Gaza city.
