Yaqub Al-Barsh, 29 years old, from Gaza city was Photographer and executive director of the local Namaa Radio. He was injured on November 12, 2023 due to an Israeli airstrike on his home in Gaza City and was announced martyred the following day according to the Beirut-based press freedom group SKeyes, the Ramallah-based Palestinian news network SHFA, and the Palestinian press freedom group MADA.

This airstrike killed his father, brother Musa, Director at Namaa Radio, and an uncle, according to a report by Beirut-based press freedom group SKeyes, a post by Namaa Club, a local sports group run by the Al-Borsh family, and his brother Issa Al-Borsh, who spoke to CPJ.

One of Al-Barsh's friends shared his photo and mourned him, saying, "My first encounter with Abu Anas was sincere love... and my last encounter with him was loyalty and purity... The pain of his separation tore my heart apart, and I cried for him as a friend who has lost his support3
