• Yousef Hassouna was awarded the prestigious Rory Peck award for his live extensive coverage of events in Gaza post October 7 with the photojournalist Bilal Sabbagh. Both worked for Agence France-Presse in Gaza. “Bilal and Youssef’s work is remarkable for its different emotions. We understand the horrific scale of the devastation thanks to their drone images,” the jury said, describing them as “unforgettable scenes.” AFP news director Phil Chetonde said, “Everyone at AFP is incredibly proud of Bilal and his colleagues’ work in Gaza.
